The Philadelphia Orchestra Firebirds PLAY SOFTBALL versus.....
Luzerne Music Center Students & Faculty!!!
|
Once every
season, the Philadelphia Orchestra “Firebirds” break out their
softball equipment, mount their batting order on their trusty
music stands (with clothes pins, no less), and take their
positions on the Luzerne Music Center ball field.
Following a moving
viola choir rendition of The Star Spangled Banner played
by LMC faculty and students, pictured at right, the ump
shouts "play ball" and the fun begins.

AFTER DINNER ON NON-CONCERT
NIGHTS After
dinner, table tennis, softball, volley ball and kickball are
frequent events, along with social-happenings such as movies,
dances and campfires. Each session culminates with "skit night"
and a banquet with an awards ceremony.

4 - 6 PM DAILY
During the week, Luzerne's private beach is open from 4 to 6
p.m. and other times when it is especially hot.
The water in Lake Luzerne is clean, soft and
spring fed.
Swimming or sunbathing, music camp students enjoy their daily
recreation time at the beach!
Canoes, sailboats and rowboats are available
for students at the waterfront, supervised by our Red
Cross-certified life guards.

MONDAYS
Mondays are officially set aside as recreation days, with
white water rafting, canoe trips, sailing, hiking and tennis being
the popular activities, and just lying out on the beach or swimming
a close second.
