Our campus, established in 1909 as Camp Tekakwitha, includes 20 wooded acres, including student cabins, faculty housing and performance, practice, dining, administrative and recreational facilities, along with a sandy beachfront on Lake Luzerne.
While we have done our best to maintain our campus, our century-old cabins can no longer be repaired and severely limit our ability to provide our students and faculty a living environment that parallels the superb quality of our music program.
Our 2020 Campaign seeks
to raise funds to transform the campus' infrastructure, purchasing new cabins for students and faculty, creating a village for each. The new cabins, built by Lancaster Log Cabins, and come fully equipped with all plumbing, furnishings and air conditioning. This will provide a safer, cleaner, more environmentally friendly and more comfortable living space for students, counselors and faculty during their four- to eight-week stays. The new faculty village will also allow us to save more than $30,000 a summer by eliminating the need to house faculty off site.
A portion of the 2020 Campaign includes installation of 12 new student cabins. With capacity for eight students, each cabin includes four bunkbeds and a bathroom, two showers and a double vanity, as well as a private bedroom and bathroom for a counselor.
Cost: $70,000 per cabin
The gift of a cabin includes a plaque with the donor's name or in honor or memory of someone.
