Senior Session

An international summer destination for serious musicians ages 14-18 that seek a four-week program of demanding musical studies. Students work closely with LMC’s renowned faculty, and receive daily chamber music coaching, weekly lessons, repertoire classes, orchestral studies, music theory and rhythm instruction, and optional coursework in jazz, secondary lessons, conducting and composition. For one week in August, musicians of The Philadelphia Orchestra are in residence at LMC. They give master classes, lead sectionals, coach small ensembles, and in a limited capacity teach private lessons.

The weeklong residency concludes with an annual 'friendly' softball game, the (students) LMC Chipmunks vs the (musicians) Philadelphia Orchestra Firebirds.
